with turpentine a brilliant saturation of color is achieved
throughlayers of wash. Each layer
of color is put down one at a time followed by a brushing of
turpentinewhich moves and blends
the colors to the exact location and consistency.
The sketch is put down
with ebony.
I begin in the upper right side of the work.
The piece takes on dimension. I add more color to
previous areas increasing the deepness and richness to a form.
More of the image takes on life.
It gets exciting now as I near completion.
The image is complete except for the night sky.
All the detailing and layering
is finished.
