Painting "Snow Pony"

The layout of the village and the night sky and snow are all sketched  on to the horse. Now, I begin putting in the sky and snow with acrylic paint.

The snow and night sky are complete except for the stars in the sky that will go in last.   Next, the first layer of the village is painted, and then the second coat and shading of the village is completed.

The last shading of the village is finished and now the doors, windows and vigas are added.   The village is coming alive.   Now a new layer of Titanium White is applied to highlight the snow. The stars begin to appear in the night sky.

The "Snow Pony" dries before her final sealing coat of varathane is applied.
She rests.
